Broken but fixable

Published on by Joy Odom

If your favorite vase broke, would you throw it out or try to repair it?

I try to.

All you need is some epoxy, to glue the pieces together.

Let it dry.

Cut pieces of fiberglass to cover inside of repaired vase.

Apply resin to reinforce fiberglass.

Good as new!

Some people are no less fragile than your favorite vase but when we break, it isn't that easy to repair - is it?

Epoxy is a bonding agent - Friendship: People or persons that you trust to hold firmly to scripture and are able to make you accountable by their very example.

Let it dry - Give it time: In time, you can heal, accept what has happened to you and through prayer and scripture and a supportive environment you can be refreshed.

Line the inside with fiberglass - Strength: Fiberglass acts as a reinforcement to brittle or thin substances - Only through confession, prayer and memorizing scripture can you be made strong. Not because of anything you can do - that doesn't make you strong, it is what God can do through you that makes you stronger. And to clarify, confession to man is not what is sought after but a confession to Jesus Christ, who is our Councilor and Comforter because He knows our hearts and to deny that confession is to deny surrendering to Him.

Resin is a hardening agent - Firm in Faith: After all that work, you are changed. You have stronger friendships, your more understanding in some areas, you delight in devotions, scriptures and prayer time and now you feel confident enough to talk about your testimony!

Being broken is not a dirty little secret Christians sweep under the rug. Being broken is God's way of building us up into His will for us from the beginning. Being broken, we are being remade as a New Creation!

The problem for us; freewill! In truth, we believe that we know more than God does.

And like a dis respective and know it all teenager, we find out that He knows what's best for us all.
